A Recipe is Likened...

A recipe is likened to a personal expression of poetry/prose... When shared with others, it extends a part of our innermost being... For others to enjoy for years to come, not short lived like a rose. A recipe takes on our individuality and culinary expression, talent and skill... Brings to mind the likes/dislikes of family and friends, memories of special gatherings... Sharing a part of ourselves with others, making memories, spanning time our "appetites" they fill. About Me

My photo
mecookin
Moved to rural Alabama in '64 to reside with my maternal grandmother, Ma. Quite the culture shock from Pensacola where my paternal grandmother lived in the historical section and Daddy was an architect. Ma was a very simple woman, had reared 12 children, 8 of her own and 4 stepdaughters; worked as a sharecropper in earlier years. She taught me many things...foremost love of family and simplicity. Now, I am the Mother of 3 children, grandmother of 6, and GiGi (great-grandmother) to 2...one boy & one girl! This has now increased to 3 boys & 3 girls. I am engaged to a wonderful man that I want to grow old with and see our children and grandchildren prosper. BTW, on March 08, 2014, I married this wonderful man!
